1988 Ferrari F90

After almost 18 years, Ferrari finally admitted that the F90 existed and was made for the Sultan of Brunei in 1988. A brief passage in the 2005 Ferrari Annual outlined an impressive order of six bespoke supercars which were much more daring than anything Ferrari would have produced themselves.

The project was managed by Enrico Fumia, the head of the Research and Development department at Pininfarina. Fumia styled the car very similar to a Pininfarina Ethos Concept car made in the same period.

All six F90s used a Ferrari Testarossa chassis which Pininfarina used to sculpt an entirely new body and interior on top of. The engines were stock units, producing 390 bhp to the rear wheels. Interestingly, the wheels were also left untouched.

Ferrari says one of the most striking design cues was the edge design that flows around the vehicle. Fumia describes this as the elliptical leit-motiv. This theme is extended to rear light cluster, rear wing, and door accents. The F90?s custom interior is surrounded completely with a glass greenhouse and the sunroof can be fully removed.

After ordering six F90s, the Sultan and his brother Prince Jefri spent the next ten years ordering custom supercars from Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Dauer and more. Just before they stopped the influx of supercars, six Ferrari FXs were made around the 512M and featured William?s F1 electro-hydraulic gearboxes.

So far, none of the Sultan?s special Ferraris have escaped Brunei. Only once was an F90 spotted in Monaco and was captured for a brief note in Cavallino magazine.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 At 08 Geneva

Even though the newly introduced Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 has enough power ? 560 horsepower, the Italian couple obtained the engine upgrade from the IMSA ? a popular tuning company expert in high-end vehicles. IMSA only added the carbon fibre rear wing and the latest set of alloy wheels to advance a stability of the car.

According to IMSA, the changes were built at an engine, few ECU tweaking and by adding the latest exhaust system, gaining thus 24 additional horsepower and overall 584 horsepower. No details about the price yet.

Spyker C8 Aileron unveiledSpyker Cars, manufacturer of premium sport cars, unveiled its second generation C-line sports car at the Salon International de l?Auto in Geneva, Switzerland today: The all aluminium Long Wheel Base model is called Spyker C8 Aileron and will come with both a manual as well as an automatic gearbox.

Architecture

The Spyker C8 Aileron continues Spyker?s signature architecture (applied since its inception in 2000 with the C8 Spyder) of a mid-engined configuration in an aluminium space frame, clad in aluminium body panels.

The Spyker C8 Aileron?s space frame is a development of the original space frame of the first generation cars: its torsional rigidity, however, was improved by 40% without adding any weight. Its dimension have changed though, the wheelbase increasing by 10 cm / 4.5 inches for improved road handling and more cockpit space. Also its front track was widened and as a result the car is virtually ?square.

Design

Designing a successor of a first generation car is no mean feat. Spyker?s design philosophy has always been to create timeless designs, contemporary but classic.

In the first generation cars the leading design cues were Spyker?s aviation and racing heritage. The propeller design consistently applied to many elements of the cars ( such as the Aeroblade wheels ) since 2000, was up for refreshment though: And in aviation the propeller engine was succeeded by the turbine engine so Spyker adopted the turbine as its ?leitmotiv? for the Spyker C8 Aileron.

The signature Spyker polished air inlets in aluminium were converted into turbine engine shaped scoops reducing the ?bling? element considerably, which reflects a trend Spyker sees in general: more sober designs, less exuberant. The scoops have polished alloy nacelles which may be colour coded with the interior as an option.

The airflow around the car was redesigned so that the shark-like gills of the first generation cars (no less than 17 on a C8 Spyder) could be abandoned giving the Aileron a cleaner, smoother appearance.

Dodge Challenger R/T (2009) Pictures Review

The brand new Dodge Challenger R/T was just recently released a couple of weeks ago at the New York International Auto Show. This 2009 Dodge is designed to mimic many different machines and it has powerful engine with great control. Cars like these are often expensive but you will be able to pick up a Dodge Challenger R/T for around the mid $20,000?s.

The Challenger has room for five passengers and is one of the only 2 door coupes that allows for five passengers to fit comfortably. It will have a new generation 5.7 Litre Hemi V8 engine and five speed automatic transmission that will be able to pump about 370HP. The automatic transmission equipped on the challenger has MDS technology which means it?s good for fuel economy.

By choice you can have a custom six speed manual transmissions installed on the car instead of the stock five speed automatic transmission. If you can drive stick then I highly recommend going for it with the custom add-on because the sixth gear gives it more power. It will need to be run on premium fuel to see the best effects of the vehicle though and it isn?t that much more expensive so it?s totally worth using premium fuel when dealing with a car like the Dodge Challenger.

The Dodge Challenger R/T can go from 0 to 60 Mph in less than six seconds which is remarkable for a family cost vehicle. The Challenger is less than your typical brand new minivan and this thing can fly on open roads and with a hemi V8 you don?t need to worry about power. The car controls great in the winter as well although you may want some specialized custom winter tires put on for added safety.

These new Europa variants have been designed and developed especially for European customers and will be sold exclusively across Europe from June 2008. The Europa is now available to a larger target audience with the entry level car providing a more accessible way to own a Europa and the SE designed to appeal to those who are even more style conscious and want increased levels of performance.

Mike Kimberley, CEO of Group Lotus plc commented: “As the true driver will know, this Europa range, offers access to Lotus’ unique DNA for those who perceive the Elise and Exige as a little too uncompromising for everyday use. The new Europa SE sits at the more refined end of the Lotus spectrum, providing a terrific mix of performance, agility and style, but incorporates Lotus’s values and heritage”.

The Europa has a mid-mounted 2 litre turbo charged engine, tuned in the SE with an all new calibration to 225 PS and with 300 Nm of torque to offer effortless cruising capability. The Europa now offers increased levels of comfort over the Elise and Exige whilst enhancing the focused driving experience that you would expect from a Lotus. These models are both equipped with race car derived double wishbone suspension to give an exceptional driving feelwith Lotus DNA. The sleek Europa body work, together with the assistance of the flat underbody, generates positive downforce to provide balanced handling at speed.

The Europa SE has attractive and light weight new wheels, which are shod with wider, high performance tyres, for increased levels of grip. These new high performance wheels are larger with 17″ rims up front, and larger 18″ rims on the rear. The new wheels house high performance AP Racing four pot brakes and larger (308 mm) diameter discs.

The SE interior has been updated by Lotus Design with a stylish new design that works in harmony with the premium avant-garde Ice White of the Geneva Show car. The interior is finished using 4 hides of soft, lightweight high-grade leather, to ensure that every surface has a luxuriant tactile feel.

As with all 2008 Lotus road cars, the Europa and Europa SE come with driver and passenger airbags and an engine start button as standard. The Europa interior is furnished with leather sports seats and comes as standard with a high quality stereo system.

Aston Martin Vantage GT2 Pictures Review

With 2008 already having many great releases from many of the premier car manufactures, Aston Martin needed a car that would look and perform better then all. They have launched there GT2 contender for 2008 which is also known as the Vantage GT2.

aston martin vantage gt2 main view

With the production of this new car, it will make Aston Martin the one and only car manufacture to build cars in each of the GT racing categories which is unheard of and hasn?t been seen in awhile. Typically, different companies specialize in certain categories, but for Aston Martin, they seem to propel in every racing area they enter and there doesn?t seem anyone coming close to them. Another first for the Aston Martin Vantage GT2 is the option of not only using race fuel but also using bio-ethanol fuel which is a lot safer and better for our environment.

aston martin vantage gt2 back view

The Aston Martin product portfolio is completed for 2008 now, since they will have a car in each racing category and they feel they?ve done a great job this year as a team. One of the only things released about the car was the fact it could use bio-ethanol fuel which is something Aston Martin was really pulling for in there 2008 series as it lacked it in the 2007 series.

aston martin vantage gt2 center view

They did a good job of keeping the specs on this car completely safeguarded and there isn?t much out on this car except for some images of it. It basically looks like a video game type of car that is all supped up. It actually resembles a racing car and from what I?ve heard it should have some great power behind it.
